LSC’s PTK Chapter Shines at Regional Convention

DSC_0644LSC’s chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society received some hard-earned accolades at the Minn-Kota regional spring convention at Ridgewater College in Willmar on February 28-29.

LSC PTK brought home seven regional awards, including:

Spirit Award: Lake Superior College
Awarded to one chapter in the Minn-Kota Region that has shown tremendous growth in the previous year.

Membership Drive Award: Lake Superior College
Greatest percentage of increase in membership. LSC increased membership by 150% in the last calendar year.

College Fish Participation: Lake Superior College
This award for greatest percentage of increase in College Fish participation. Lake Superior College increased by 300% in the last calendar year.

Competitive Edge Participation: Lake Superior College
Greatest percentage of increase in Competitive Edge participation. This number is based on those officers (see below) who reached a level 5. Lake Superior College increased by 300% in the last calendar year.

Paragon Advisor Award: Jocelyn Pihlaja
Recognizes advisors who have served less than four years and have made significant contributions to the growth of the individual chapter members, served as the chapter’s advocate on campus, and encouraged the chapter to be involved on the local, regional, and/or international level of the organization.
